Conor Gaffney, guitarist and lead singer of Glasgow heavy rock band Anchor Lane, in concert at the Winterstorm Festival Launch Event, Troon, Scotland – February 2018. This event, held for a small crowd on a Sunday afternoon, was the launch event of the 2018 Winterstorm Festival where it was announced that bands such as Gun, Magnum and Geoff Tate would be performing at the main festival venue in November 2018.
The band take their influence from rock bands such as Queen, Blackstone Cherry, Alter Bridge, Rival Sons and Foo Fighters, and have honed their sound into a very listenable style of modern rock music. This has resulted in them gaining many fans from all over the world and giving outstanding live performances as well as releasing an EP called New Beginning which is available as a digital download. The first single release from this EP is entitled “Finished For Twelve” which has became a tour de force of their live performances.
Together with members, Jack Nicol, Matthew Quigley and Scott Hanlon the band were formed whilst studying at The Glasgow Academy Of Music and Sound where they collectively discovered a mutual liking of rock music and became firm friends. The four-piece recently released their stunning debut EP ‘New Beginning’, highlighting the band as skilled songwriters with a talent for writing powerful riffs. The Winterstorm Festival enters its third year in 2018 and is a large 2 day indoor rock festival held in Troon, Scotland. It has featured such bands as FM, Tyketto, Bernie Marsden, Tygers of Pang Tang, Praying Mantis and many others. The festival is a good mixture of classic bands and new or upcoming young bands who have proven their worth to appear on the same bill as the bigger acts.
