There are many young and upcoming bands on the Glasgow music scene at present. Once such band, and one with and immense level of talent is Rigid Soul.
Comprising of Kyle Hood on vocals and guitar, Liam Brown on bass and backing vocals and Lewis Ross on drums, this 3 piece are a band who have a tight blues based sound and are very accomplished musicians for their young age.
With an eclectic blues-rock sound being amongst the bands heaviest influences, their original music features elements from a broad range of musical genres including jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and Latin music.
Since their debut EP ‘Head In The Clouds’ was self-released in March 2018 Rigid Soul has underwent a number of line up changes with core members Kyle Hood (guitar and vocals) and Lewis Ross (drums) remaining constant. In late 2018, Liam Brown (bass) completed the official line up, allowing the band to focus on building a live repertoire and writing new original material.
Some of the bands highlight shows to date include support slots with Zal Cleminson of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Kyle Falconer of The View and also a support slot to Praying Mantis.
Rigid Soul currently have a monthly residency gigs at Glasgow venue The Howlin’ Wolf.
